impromptu change of blog post

so, i've had a long last couple of weeks.. very busy at work doing picture day at 2 different schools. its been so fun and interesting and great for the store. its also been extremely consuming of my body and mind, which totally sucks. so, i thought to myself, maybe i'll do a blog post about the last couple of weeks, and the pictures i've taken and the silly things i saw while spending 6 days in an elementary school environment. make me feel better kinda thing, ya know? then, i went on to my website to get some pictures to post to the blog, and i got STUCK. stuck watching the slideshow on the homepage. and i'm not gonna lie, i thoroughly enjoyed myself. maybe it was just the pictures bringing back the funny memories that made these kids smile, but thats besides the point. my point is, im proud of myself, and all the things i do, and you should be too! :) goodbye!

*update 10 minutes later..
i'll definitely do a post about the schools, just not right now, goodbye!

the last day at the beach

with one of the best families I know! I've been shooting this family for the last couple of years and each time I enjoy it more. The kids are full of energy, and the parents are hysterical. Throughout the shoot we laughed at the silly things the kids did, dad's complaining, and everything in between. These photos are some of my favorites to date. I hope you enjoy browsing them as much as I did taking them!

Pup Pics

hipstamatic
It's been decided that my Pic This blog is not gonna just be aaall about my portrait sessions. I take a lot of photos outside work to, mostly with my iPhone 4. I haven't shot with a real deal cam outside work in a while.. Just too big to lug around and like, I don't care because I love the iPhone photog apps. They make me happy! So, with that said, at the end of a long day I often come home and lounge around the backyard with the pups. Scoo and Lil. Sometimes we do pup photoshoots. Scooby hates the camera. Lily LOVES it. I just like to play with my iPhone. :) and here's what you get...

15 minutes later, second post, way less butterflies

My favorite twin boys. They are turning 3. I've taken pictures of them bi-annually since they were 6 months, and BOY are they cute. Easily one of my favorite families to come to Picture This of. all. time. Why are they so cute? Because everytime they pass the portraits in their house that I took they ask when they are going to visit me next. And if that isn't enough, look at the pictures below. And if THAT isn't enough, listen to this story..
K & S and their older brother came in for an appointment about 6 months ago. The twins 2 1/2 and their older bro 4 all kissed and hugged me and said "Hi Nikki!" because they are just so sweet. During the appointment we were laughing and joking, and attempting some jumping pictures (which was a hilarious disaster). But jump they did, until the end of the appointment, and all through the time mommy picked her favorites. So cute. Stories not over. Mommy comes back to pick up her prints and shares with me this information. The entire weekend the 3 of them played "Pictures" They made a camera out of legos. The oldest was me, he took the pictures. The twins jumped and posed. I died. The end.

Left: First Appointment with the Twins. Right: First Appointment with all 3, who at the time were all under 3, and walking, getting all in the same frame makes a successful appointment!

Twins Turn 2. Right: The Smile Shot. Left: The Silly Shot (this was during a game of peek-a-boo, but i like to think of it like, "Oh brother! What are you DOing?"

3 Little Jumping Beans.
The twins are 3. Can't wait to see them with their haircuts!

my first post.. im nervous : /

Hi! I'd like to introduce myself to the blogging world. I'm Nicolette, the photographer and a partner at Picture This in the quaint little town of Cedarhurst, NY. Today, I'm starting this here blog to showcase the work I do, and share it with whoever wants to see. Since I'm nervous, and the pressure of a first blog post is stressing me out, and writing these 3 lame sentences has taken all the energy I have, I've decided, I'm just not gonna do some super duper first blog post! Whew! Pressures off! Stay tuned for my next blog post! :)

*cute baby. pretend that i asked this baby to make the face I would make to show the nervousness of the first blog post. cute baby hit nail on head. lol
